A drip system should be designed for maintenance from the beginning. Filters need access, line ends need practical flushing arrangements and valves should be easy to identify by zone.

Routine checks can include observing pressure or flow changes, cleaning filters, flushing mains and laterals, checking connectors and looking for blocked or damaged emitters.

Maintenance frequency depends on water quality, crop environment and system use. A fixed universal schedule is less useful than monitoring how quickly the system accumulates debris or loses performance.

At seasonal shutdown, protect exposed components, drain sections where freezing is possible and record parts that should be replaced before the next cycle.
